Light Roast
This lot from Kecho Aderecha has a scent of brown sugar, with hints of stone fruits, both dried and cooked, honey and baking spice. Pouring hot water on the grounds pulls out sugar browning sweetness, molasses, peach, and hints of citrus. The fruits in the cup are a little hazy at first, but opens up to tasty fruit notes of apricot tea, dried peach, and the tangy side of a golden plum. There is a bittering hint in these light roasts that brings to mind fruit skins, rindy orange peel, but subtle.
